Places, drawn from the ground up
Harbour & Finch makes prints of the viewpoints people travel for. Each one starts as survey data, not a photograph.
Why survey data
A photo of a view is one afternoon's light. The shape of the land is the part that lasts: the line of the ridge, the gap in the valley, the summit you pointed at.
So we start with elevation data (USGS surveys in the US, the Copernicus elevation model for England and Scotland) and render the view from the spot where you'd stand, at the width your eyes take in. Then we check it. If a peak can't be seen from that viewpoint, it isn't named. If a height is printed, it comes from a survey.
The result is a quiet, atmospheric print with the facts right underneath it.
UK and some US views produced using Copernicus WorldDEM-30 © DLR e.V. 2010-2014 and © Airbus Defence and Space GmbH 2014-2018 provided under COPERNICUS by the European Union and ESA; all rights reserved. US elevation data: U.S. Geological Survey. UK heights: The Database of British and Irish Hills v18.6.
What we hold to
Made with care for the facts
Checked, not guessed
Every named summit has a line of sight from the viewpoint, and every height comes from a survey.
Made when you order
Each print is made for you by a print studio close to you, so nothing sits in a warehouse.
Yours if you want it
